Germany Cup canoe whitewater racing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Germany Cup Canoe White Water Racing was a series of competitions in white water racing that existed between 2000 and 2012 . The Germany Cup was held in the performance classes of men K1 , C1 and C2 and women K1 and these same classes in the junior area . The number of included competitions varied from season to season.

The organizers of the Germany Cup developed a new concept for the racing series for 2011. However, this was not communicated sufficiently, so that the athletes did not show any interest. In 2012 and in the plans for 2013, the changes in the result evaluation were reversed, but contrary to these plans, the Germany Cup has not been held since 2013.

Point system

2000-2010

The distribution of points corresponded to the distribution of points in the white water racing World Cup.

space 1 2 3 4th 5 6th 7th 8th 9 ...
Points 50 46 43 41 39 38 37 36 35 ...

Since 2011

In 2011 a new concept was introduced to better anchor the Germany Cup in the minds of athletes and fans. The innovations included u. a.

  • the decoupling of the Germany Cup from the established races, which are included in the evaluation of the German qualification rankings in the WWR,
  • relocating the racing series to late summer in order to create an incentive for the competitions after the international and national highlights,
  • a final decision race to create a more exciting climax to determine the overall winner.

For 2012, the ranking races were again included in the rating. The decision in a final race was retained. The distribution of points has been changed to a counting method that only rewards well-placed athletes with points:

space 1 2 3 4th 5 6th 7th 8th 9
Points 10 8th 7th 6th 5 4th 3 2 1
