Devin Graham

Devin Michael Graham (born July 29, 1983 in Salt Lake City ) is an American filmmaker , cameraman , photographer , editor and blogger . He became known by his stage name Devin Super Tramp on YouTube , where he regularly publishes his - initially amateurish, now professional - film projects. He is primarily known for staging numerous recreational and extreme sports with plenty of action, including the Jetlev Flyer , an oversized rope swing under a canyon , or "human slingshots ". With over 5 million subscribers and videos with more than 1.1 billion views (as of December 23, 2018), it has one of the most successful channels on YouTube. On his second channel "TEAMSUPERTRAMP", formerly "devingraham", he shows what happens behind the camera and how his videos are created on the main channel "devinsupertramp". His second channel has over 950,000 subscribers and more than 128 million views (as of December 23, 2018). There is also a third channel called Chrono, with over 19,000 subscribers (as of December 23, 2018), on which slow-motion recordings that were made during various filming are uploaded.

With the production of her music videos, he made a significant contribution to the success of violinist Lindsey Stirling .

Life

Graham studied film at Brigham Young University , but dropped out with his roommate Jeff Harmon to have more time for their projects. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as Mormons ). In his Youtube videos, apart from regular vlogs since the beginning of 2015 , there is no focus on Graham's private life. On his blogspot profile, however, he judged himself to be very shy at school. He also wrote about several snowboarding accidents that left him deeply troubled, which means that he still has respect for extreme sports today, which is why he has concentrated on being behind the camera since then. His fear of heights is also mentioned several times in the videos .

Graham has been married to longtime girlfriend Megan Smee since August 2016. Their wedding was documented on Graham's YouTube channel.

Career and first film projects

The first film projects were the short films "Tallawah" and "Passion", which Graham screened in his hometown of Salt Lake City. In addition, one of his first very successful productions was a commercial for Orabrush, a manufacturer of dental hygiene articles that became very well known on YouTube with over 24 million views.

Working together

After Graham increased his professionalism, numerous companies such as Mountain Dew , Bear Naked, Gopro , Glidecam Industries, Ubisoft , Vooray and Adobe Inc. noticed him. also contributed to his short film series " Assassin's Creed - Parkour", because of the popularity of which Ubisoft worked with him several times. The short films about Assassin's Creed were shot each time with experienced freerunners and achieved click figures of up to 50 million clicks. Ubisoft worked with him again on the realization of the projects "Watch Dogs Parkour in Real Life in 4K" and Far Cry 4 in Real Life - First Person with GoPro4 in 4K! together. Likewise Graham delighted in cooperation with the American steadycam maker Glidecam Industries. With the help of these, a tripod model with the name "Devin Graham Signature Series" was brought onto the market in 2015. The model was extensively tested by its namesake on a trip around the world and presented at NAB 2015, a trade fair for video technology in Las Vegas.

Team Supertramp

The Youtube channels "Devinsupertramp" and "Devin Graham" were run by Graham himself for a long time. Before long, the videos for the Devingraham channel were filmed by an American YouTube blogger named Jace Leroy. Not much later, however, this task was transferred to the hobby cameraman Parker Walbeck. For a long time Walbeck only followed the videos of "Devinsupertramp" until the two met and now continuously produce videos together. Parker Walbeck usually acts as an assistant editor, second cinematographer and on some shoots also as a director . Meanwhile, the work of the two is supported by Dakota Walbeck, brother of Parker, and Carter Hogan, who can be seen on Graham's second channel since the beginning of 2014/2015. Jacob Schwarz, a friend from his student days, can often be seen as a producer at Graham's side. As already mentioned, slow-motion recordings are regularly made during filming, which are uploaded to the "Chrono" channel by Teamsupertramp at irregular intervals. After his wedding in the summer of 2015, Parker Walbeck decided to leave Team Supertramp, which was supported by Devin. The team was complemented by Nick Sales and Tyson Henderson. In the meantime, Team Supertramp has grown to such a size that the team will move into its own office building in 2015.
