Diamond Head is a British heavy metal band formed in Stourbridge , England in 1976 . Considered one of the leading bands in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal , they were later cited by bands like Metallica and Megadeth as a significant influence on their own music.

history

The band released first demo recordings in 1977 and 1979 , which earned them enough radio success to tour with AC / DC and Iron Maiden . Her first album, The White Album , was released in 1980 on Happy Face Records . In Germany, the album was released under the title Lightning to the Nations with a different cover on Woolfe Records . His success led to a recording contract with MCA Records in 1981 . Borrowed Time followed in 1982 and Canterbury in 1983 , before the band split up for the first time in 1985.

In 1991 Tatler and Harris united the band to release Death and Progress in 1993 with guest musicians such as Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth . In 1994 the band split again, but returned again in 2002 to record a new album. Although the album was fully recorded, Sean Harris' reluctance left it to never go on sale. Shortly afterwards he left the band and was replaced by Jess Cox (ex- Tygers of Pan Tang ) at Wacken Open Air in 2003 , before Nick Tart (formerly: The Outcasts , Alabama Bombshell , Notorious , Life ) joined the vocalist in 2004 .

In 2005 the band produced 1,000 copies of the new album All Will Be Revealed at their own expense and sold it at concerts and through their website. A major European tour with Megadeth followed in February . Another album with singer Nick Tart followed on July 30, 2007.

On Garage Inc. are all old Cover (1998), as well as a new recording It's Electric .

Am I Evil? was also on the MC - Single Am I Evil / Blitzkrieg? one of her first properly recorded songs, which also briefly on their debut Kill 'Em All was released. Metallica also liked to use the song for sound checks, for example in 1985 on the eve of the Metal Hammer Festival on the Loreley .
