reception

Harald Keller said in the Frankfurter Rundschau that Die Alpha-Journalisten 2.0 is the continuation of the successful volume "Die Alpha-Journalisten" . The journalists presented in the book would have become particularly well known through various Internet ventures . With the book, the editors would provide a concise summary of the latest developments in the field of journalism . But here too the selection is criticized.

Sabine Pamperrien thinks about Parliament on 2.0 that the selection seems a bit arbitrary. Investigative journalists are not featured in the book, but the heads of the online editions of large print brands and well-known bloggers . The passages in the introduction, in which the status of the scientific discussion on online journalism is presented, and the essay by Thomas Schuler, which shows that quality journalism is not measured by the level of awareness of the actors, but by the seriousness of the reporting, were found to be worth reading .

The European Journalism Observatory said on the platform ejo-online.eu that "'The media experts Stephan Weichert and Christian Zabel" "have gathered around 20 authors in a remarkable book who have portrayed the leading figures in German-language online journalism . " The book would provide "insights into the mindsets of the blogger community", but also "give an exciting overview of the state of the art of online journalism".

The research journal Social Movements believes that "the reactions to the book" Die Alpha-Journalisten 2.0 "" shows "how big the gap is between old and new media". The portraits show "that the established bloggers definitely have a journalistic training and take on a similar role on the web as the print journalist." The bloggers would also collect "a lot of information" and filter it for their readers.
