The heavenly world

The Himmelswelt - communications of the Association of Friends of Astronomy and Cosmic Physics - was founded in 1891 by Wilhelm Foerster ( 1832 - 1921 ) and was published as a popular science monthly magazine (usually in double numbers six times a year) until 1949 in Ferd. Dümmlers Verlag Bonn - Berlin. The original title 'Messages of the Association of Friends of Astronomy and Cosmic Physics' was replaced by 'Die Himmelswelt' in the 30th year in 1920; the previous one then only served as a subtitle. In 1931 the subtitle 'Journal for Astronomy and its Frontier Areas' was added. After a two-year break due to the war in 1944–1946, the two volumes 55 (1947/48) and 56 (1949) were published, in which reports of the Astronomical Society are also printed; shortly after the currency reform , the magazine was discontinued for economic reasons.
