The Return of the Forgotten Friends (Original title: Don't Look Under the Bed ) is an American television film directed by Kenneth Johnson from 1999.

14 year old Frances is very mature for her age and believes there is an explanation for everything. After switching to high school, strange things happen in her hometown of Middleberg: a dog sits on the roof of a house, raw eggs fall out of nowhere on a car, a water fountain shoots from a school bus, and graffiti is popping up all over her town. Time stands still for a moment and she meets Larry and Zoe, who can only be seen by her and who turn out to be friends of the imagination . Frances despairs of all these phenomena. She learns from Larry that the "boogeyman", a creature from another dimension, is responsible for this. Frances sets out with Larry and Zoe to find the boogeyman and their missing brother Michael. In doing so, she tries to find explanations for what happened.
