The three friends Kim, Franzi and Marie want to spend their long holidays at a theater work shop run by the educator Robert Wilhelms. After three weeks he wants to perform the play Peter Pan . An old theater, which was partially destroyed by fire 15 years ago, is planned as the location for rehearsals and performances. The revenue from the performance will be used to rebuild the theater. Eerie processes begin on the second day of the trial. The changing room is devastated, words sprayed on the walls, strange noises can be heard, with candles skulls are depicted in a meadow at night. A phantom seems to be up to mischief in the theater. But all actors want to continue rehearsing anyway. For the three! a case according to your taste. They start investigating and soon they have half a dozen suspects. So Marly, who ran away from home, appears to play Tigerlilly. Verena, who is jealous of Marie because she got the role of Tinkerbell, is also under suspicion. Or is it Jimmy's worn-out uncle who indulges in alcohol in a disreputable harbor bar? Or Jimmy himself, who has to do community hours, but with whom Franzi begins to fall in love?

After many entanglements and investigations, which do not always lead in the right direction, the three detectives discover a secret vaulted cellar in the theater shortly before the performance, in which the phantom seems to live. In fact, the organizer of the performance is holding the real Robert Wilhelms prisoner there. He himself is an unrecognized actor who has been hiding there since the fire and is now slowly falling into madness. During the performance, the three friends manage to uncover everything in a grand finale and Inspector Peters can finally arrest the perpetrator.
