Phoebe Fox (* 1987 in London as Phoebe Mercedes Fox ) is a British actress .

Life

Phoebe Fox was born to the actor couple Stuart Fox and Prue Clarke. She studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts . At the academy she met her future husband, the actor Kyle Soller.

In 2010 she performed at the Chichester Festival Theater in A Month in the Country . In 2011 she starred as Celia in As You Like It at the Rose Theater, Kingston and was nominated for Outstanding Newcomer at the Evening Standard Theater Awards . In 2012 she performed as Cordelia at the Almeida Theater in King Lear .

At the Royal National Theater she played the role of Olivia in What you want in 2017 . In 2019 she played the title role in Anna by Ella Hickson at the Dorfman Theater des Royal National Theaters .

She had other engagements at the Royal Court Theater and the Lyceum Theater .

Movie and TV

She had her first supporting roles in 2011 in Two in One Day (One Day) with Anne Hathaway and an episode of the science fiction series Black Mirror .

She starred in the 2012 television series Switch as Grace Watkins. She had another leading role in 2014 in the horror film Die Frau in Schwarz 2: Engel des Todes (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) by the studio Hammer Film Productions by director Tom Harper, where she played the role of the teacher Eve Parkins. In the thriller Eye in the Sky by Gavin Hood , she appeared in the role of Carrie Gershon, 2015. Laura Maire gave her the voice in the German dubbed version of these two productions . In addition, Fox 2015 in the BBC miniseries played Life in Squares on the Bloomsbury Group , the role of Vanessa Bell .

In 2016 she played the role of Leah Hanwell in the film adaptation of the novel London NW by the writer Zadie Smith and appeared as Kathy Griffiths in the mini-series Close to the Enemy . She stood in front of the camera with Eddie Redmayne , Felicity Jones and Vincent Perez for Tom Harper's adventure film The Aeronauts (2019) . In the German-Belgian film Intrigo: Samaria (2019) based on Håkan Nesser , she played the role of filmmaker Paula Polanski alongside Andrew Buchan as her former teacher Henry. In the StarzPlay series The Great with Elle Fanning as Catherine II , she embodied her confidante Marial.
