Diego Alejandro Ruiz Scheuschner (born December 19, 1980 in San Miguel de Tucumán ) is a former Argentinian soccer player with German roots and German citizenship .

Career

Diego Ruiz started his career at CA Lanús in Argentina in 1997 . After two years he moved to CA San Telmo . In July 2004 he went to KRC Genk . After only one season he signed with CD Huachipato in Chile . In January 2008 he moved to CFR Cluj . On March 2, 2008 he made his debut in League 1 when he was substituted on in the 1: 3 defeat against Steaua Bucharest for André Leão in the 81st minute. In the 2009/10 season he was loaned to the Süper Lig promoted Kasımpaşa Istanbul , where he only came to four missions. After his return in the summer of 2010, Cluj gave him to the Azerbaijani club FK Xəzər Lənkəran in August . In November, however, he returned to Romania and played for FCM Târgu Mureş . With the promoted team he secured relegation in the 2010/11 season. In the middle of the 2011/12 season he left Romania for the Chilean first division club CD Antofagasta . At the end of the 2012 season, he narrowly secured the class remaining with his club. He then moved to CD Universidad de Concepción in the Primera B de Chile in early 2013 . There he was promoted to the Primera División. After the end of the 2013/14 season he left the club to relegated Everton de Viña del Mar . He played for Deportes Iberia from mid-2015 until his retirement in 2018 .
