Diekhof is a district of the town of Laage in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

Diekhof is located between the cities of Güstrow , Teterow and Laage in the transition area from the upper Recknitz valley to Mecklenburg Switzerland . The Schaalbeke flows through the local area towards Recknitz. In the hilly area near the district of Lüningsdorf the Schmooksberg reaches 127.5  m above sea level. NHN . One of six SREM radar systems operated by German Air Traffic Control is located there .

The districts of Alt Diekhof, Diekhof Siedlung, Drölitz, Knegendorf, Lissow, Lüningsdorf, Pölitz and Striesenow belong to Diekhof.

history

Diekhof was probably settled from the 12th century. The estate was owned by the von Voss , von Hahn (1462–1771), Counts von Wallmoden and von Bassewitz families (from 1845). The baroque mansion - a three-wing complex with a courtyard - was built in 1739. In 1768 a rococo chapel was added. In 1945 some buildings burned down, including the mansion itself.

The settlement on the road to Güstrow was built in the 1930s. Diekhof is now a primary school location and has a large sports field with a sports hall. With effect from May 26, 2019 Diekhof was incorporated into Laage. The last mayor was Rolf Matschinsky.

Pölitz was first mentioned in a document in 1343.

Striesenow: Landowners were u. a. the families Count von Wallmoden -Gimborn (1780-1837), Ludwig Schroeder (until 1901), von Lepel (until 1932) and Eduard Roosen (until 1945). The manor house dates from around 1900.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities of Drölitz, Knegendorf, Lüningsdorf and Striesenow were incorporated. Pölitz was incorporated on January 1, 2004.

Outsourcing

On January 1, 1952, Lüningsdorf and Striesenow were ceded to the new municipality of Pölitz.

The coat of arms was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on June 11, 1998 and registered under the number 164 of the coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It was designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick .

Attractions

  • Diekhof estate with chapel, park, tea pavilion and stables in Diekhof Hof. From 1732 to 1739 a baroque mansion was built as a castle-like three-wing complex with a court of honor and cavalier houses. In 1768 a rococo chapel was added according to plans by the builder CD Holle . In 1945 the building burned down, a side wing and the chapel were preserved.

Transport links

The connecting road from Güstrow to Bundesstraße 108 ( Rostock - Teterow ) leads through the village . The Glasewitz motorway junction on federal motorway 19 is only a few kilometers away from Diekhof. To the west of Diekhof is the Subzin-Liessow stop on the Neustrelitz – Warnemünde railway line .
