Dieter Buwen
Dieter Buwen (born June 22, 1955 in Losheim am See ; † February 18, 2020 in Fürth ) was a German composer , musician and university professor .
Life
Buwen studied from 1975 to 1982 at the University of Music Saar trays music education , church music and music theory and composition . He completed his training with Gaston Litaize in Paris .
Buwen was a lecturer at the University of Music in Würzburg from 1992 to 1998 and was a lecturer in music theory and composition at the University of Music in Nuremberg until his death . There he was appointed honorary professor in 2014 .
He has received various awards, for example in 2003 he won the contemporary sacred music composition competition of the European Church Music Festival in Schwäbisch Gmünd .
Act
Buwen mainly composed chamber music . For example, he composed pieces for the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet , the Ensemble Phorminx , the Ensemble l'art pour l'art and the Ensemble ars nova ensemble Nürnberg . He also brought out some solo compositions. In addition to sound carrier recordings, his compositions were distributed through radio recordings, in particular through the Bavarian radio .
