Dieter Klemm (politician)

Dieter Klemm (born June 8, 1940 ) is a former German politician ( Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU)). He was chairman of the Rostock district committee of the CDU in the GDR .

Life

The son of a Christian family - his father was a CDU district secretary - completed an apprenticeship in catering after attending school and graduated as a waiter . He then did his military service in the National People's Army (NVA). In 1957, Klemm joined the CDU. He was then an instructor at the Marienberg district council , from 1961 to 1966 mayor of Hohndorf (near Zschopau ) and from 1966 to 1973 city councilor for complex care in Crimmitschau . After an initial distance learning course at the Rodewisch School of Economics, which he graduated as an industrial economist, he took on a second at the Humboldt University in Berlin and passed the exam as a graduate state scientist . In 1973, Klemm became mayor of Hainichen and chairman of the Hainichen district board of the CDU.

From April 1982 to March 1990 he was chairman of the Rostock district board of the CDU. In October 1982, at the 15th party congress, Klemm was elected a member of the main board of the CDU.

Klemm is married and has three children.
