Diethard Koehler

Diethard Köhler (born January 18, 1926 , † November 30, 1987 ) was a German biologist , ethnologist and university professor . He was a doctor of biology and professor of botany at the Technical University in Darmstadt as well as the author and editor of several scientific , historical , local history and genealogical works.

Life

Diethard Köhler studied at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and received his doctorate with the thesis About the influence of unknown external factors on the germination of oat and its consequences for growth and growth-reaction coleoptile 1953. Dr. rer. nat .

In 1963 Diethard Köhler was appointed lecturer at the Faculty of Chemistry , Biology , Geology and Mineralogy at the Technical University of Darmstadt . From 1971 to 1987 he was professor of botany at the TH Darmstadt.

He was born with the ethnologist Brigitte Köhler. Früchtnicht (* 1920; † 2010) married and had two children. Köhler lived in Ober-Ramstadt .

As an ethnologist, he has edited several works that deal thematically with the history of the Odenwald and the area around Darmstadt. This includes some genealogical works which, among other things, deal with the Waldensian colony in Wembach and Hahn .
