Dietrich Kämper

Dietrich Kämper (* 1936 in Melle , Lower Saxony ) is a German musicologist .

Life

Dietrich Kämper studied at the Universities of Cologne and Zurich with research stays in Bologna , Florence and Rome . He obtained his doctorate in 1963 on Franz Wüllner - life, work and compositional work at the University of Cologne , where he qualified as a professor in musicology in 1967. Since 1986 he has held the newly established chair for musicology at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . In 1995 he was finally appointed to the University of Cologne. His main research interests were the music of the Renaissance , the music of the 20th century and the music history of the Rhineland.
