Dietrich Schulze (born August 10, 1940 ; † December 17, 2008 in Mellendorf ) was a German horse breeder and equestrian patron.

Life

Dietrich Schulze did gymnastics in his youth and came to equestrian sports late . During his active career he was a show jumper and then worked as a trainer at the riding club Deutschlandhalle in Berlin. In 1987 he married the show jumper Madeleine Winter . The Schulze couple ran a successful horse breeding business. In 1994 the national trainer of the German show jumping riders, Herbert Meyer , was able to win Schulze, who wanted to stop breeding top horses at that time, as breeder and patron for Ludger Beerbaum . Schulze then also equipped Isabell Werth , Marco Kutscher , Bettina Hoy and Ina Saalbach-Müller with horses, some of which they bred themselves, some of whom they have bought.

The stallions Quincey , on which Marco Kutscher achieved the six-year-old title in Warendorf in 2005, and the Cockney ridden by Philipp Weishaupt also come from the breeding of Dietrich Schulze . Markus Beerbaum also rode two successful horses from the Schulzeschen breed with Franziska and Graf . In addition, Schulze worked together with his wife as a patron of German show jumping and was the patron of several show jumping tournaments, such as the Grand Prix of Isernhagen. The Schulze couple lived on the former farm of Hartwig Steenken in Mellendorf .
