Otto Dippelhofer

Otto Dippelhofer (born March 3, 1909 in Augsburg , † August 24, 1989 in Munich ) was a Brigadier General in the Federal Border Guard .

Life

Dippelhofer was born in Augsburg in 1909 as the son of a locomotive driver, graduated from high school in his hometown, studied law in Munich and Würzburg , followed by state legal examinations in 1932 and 1935, doctorate in 1933 as Dr. jur. utr. after which he became an assessor .

In 1936 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht , in World War II he became SS-Sturmbannführer ( SS -Nr. 77.517); NSDAP - membership. 2,243,882, Major in the Gendarmerie, 1942/43 Reich Ministry of the Interior , Head of Subgroup 1 in the Main Office of the Ordnungspolizei ( SS and police jurisdiction ).

At the end of the war Dippelhofer was Lieutenant Colonel i. G., became a prisoner of war and then worked for a short time as an assessor in Lindau .

In 1951 he was active in the establishment, development and expansion of the Federal Border Guard, and from 1959 to 1969 as Brigadier General in command of the South Border Guard Command.
