Director and Professor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Director and Professor is an official title in Germany for civil servants who work for research institutions or authorities with their own research area. You are in the grade B 1 to 3 of pay regulation B grouped. Authority managers receive an allowance. The designation is neither an academic degree nor a title. Civil servants use the designation “Director and Professor a. D. "and are not allowed to use the title of" professor ", as provided for by state law for university lecturers. The same applies to the official title of “museum director and professor”, which under federal law is in grade A 16 and under state law also in higher grade as head of museums or departments in museums.

There is also the designation director and professor with authority additions (e.g. "director and professor of the Federal Institute for Hydraulic Engineering "). These lead the authority. In the case of large authorities, the designation is usually “President and Professor” (e.g. “President and Professor of the Federal Highway Research Institute ”). Both are classified in higher grades. If the designation is used without an addition, it is a department manager or similar.
