The Disney Wonder (Eng. Miracle ) is a cruise ship of the shipping company Disney Cruise Line . In terms of technology, design and conception as a cruise ship for families with children, it largely corresponds to its sister ship Disney Magic and, like this, was entered in the shipping register of the Bahamas .

history

Construction and commissioning

The Disney Wonder is the shipping company's second new build project to be built at the Fincantieri shipyard. In contrast to Disney Magic , the Disney Wonder with the construction number 5990 was built as a complete unit in Marghera near Venice . The transfer from the shipyard to the base port Port Canaveral took place between July 14th and August 2nd, 1999. The ship was christened by Tinker Bell . This was the first time that an animated Disney character was chosen to be the godfather of a ship. On August 15, 1999, the Disney Wonder left for her first cruise.

commitment

The Disney Wonder was initially mainly used for cruises in the Caribbean . After the commissioning of the Disney Dream , she will primarily be used for cruises along the west coast of the USA and Canada, to Hawaii and the Bahamas.
