The Corrales district is one of the 6 districts of the Tumbes Province in the Tumbes region in the far northwest of Peru . The district was founded on January 12, 1871. In the 2017 census, 23,337 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​131.6 km². In 1993 the population was 17,489, in 2007 it was 20,984. The administrative seat is the city of San Pedro de los Incas with 17,883 inhabitants (as of 2017). San Pedro de los Incas is located 4 km southwest of the provincial and regional capital Tumbes . In the district is the archaeological site of Cabeza de Vaca with the Museo de sitio Gran Chilimasa .

The Corrales District is located on the Pacific Ocean in the west of Tumbes Province. The lower reaches of the Río Tumbes forms the northern district boundary. The national road 1N ( Panamericana ) from Tumbes to Zorritos runs through the district. In the south, the up to 200  m high Cerro La Mesa Colorada rises . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the lowlands along the Tumbes River and along the coast. The Corrales district borders in the northeast on the Tumbes district , in the east on the San Juan de la Virgen district , in the southeast on the San Jacinto district and in the southwest on the La Cruz district .
