biography

Archipow started in December 1995 in the European Cup. He made his debut in the Freestyle World Cup on January 12, 2002; with 6th place in Mont-Tremblant , he won his first World Cup points and immediately established himself among the world's best. The first World Cup victory followed in Whistler on January 27, 2002 . At the 2002 Winter Olympics , he finished 15th.

Archipov dominated the 2002/03 season almost at will. He won the World Cup competitions in Lake Placid , Steamboat Springs and Špindlerův Mlýn , plus two second places. He won the Aerials World Cup ranking as well as the overall ranking calculated from the average of the results. In addition, he won the gold medal at the 2003 World Cup in Deer Valley , ahead of the Belarusian defending champion Aljaksej Hryschyn and the Canadian Steve Omischl .

In the World Cup season 2003/04 Archipow could not quite build on the performance of the pre-winter. Ultimately, the result was a second place and several top 10 placements. On January 14, 2005, he achieved the fifth and final World Cup victory in Lake Placid. In winter 2005/06 a 6th place was his best result. He qualified for the 2006 Winter Olympics , but then decided without a start and withdrew from top-class sport.
