The 2001/02 season of the Freestyle Skiing World Cup organized by the FIS began on September 8, 2001 in Mount Buller ( Australia ) and ended on March 16, 2002 in Ruka ( Finland ). Competitions were held in the disciplines of aerials (jumping), moguls (moguls) and dual moguls (parallel moguls). The highlight of the season was the 2002 Winter Olympics , with the freestyle competitions taking place in Deer Valley from February 9th to 19th .
