Dobrá Voda ( German Guttenbrunn ) is a district of the municipality Číměř in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north of Nová Bystřice and belongs to the Okres Jindřichův Hradec . The place is laid out as a triangular longitudinal village.

history

In 1364 the village "Gvtepvnne" is mentioned for the first time. Most of the town's possessions belonged to the reign of Neubistritz and a small part to the reign of Neuhaus. In order to maintain the hospital in Neuhaus, the residents of Guttenbrunn had to pay a labor contribution in 1405.

Over the centuries the spelling of the village changed several times. One spoke of "Gothenprvn" (1429), then of "Gutnprvn" (1541) and finally from 1789 of "Gutenbrunn". In 1848 Guttenbrunn became an independent municipality. The registers have been kept at Neubistritz since 1664.

After the First World War and the Peace Treaty of Saint Germain in 1919, the place, whose inhabitants in 1910 belonged exclusively to the German language group, became part of the new First Czechoslovak Republic . After the Munich Agreement , the place came to the German Reich 1933 to 1945 . He became part of the Reichsgau Niederdonau .

After the end of the Second World War , which claimed 24 victims among the Guttenbrunn family, the community fell back to the Third Czechoslovak Republic . On May 29, 1945 it was occupied by the Czechs along with the surrounding communities. They took 2 men hostage and drove the local population across the border to Austria. The hostages were shot. The place was repopulated. The property of the German residents was confiscated by the Beneš decree 108 . The Catholic Church was expropriated in the communist era . The local residents in Austria were transferred  to Germany with the exception of 12 families - in accordance with the original transfer targets of the Potsdam Agreement . One person immigrated to Canada.

After 1961, the village was administered by the neighboring municipality of Číměř and incorporated into this on June 14, 1964.

Seal and coat of arms

There is an indication that the community seal showed a bear holding a crown and a letter in its paws, this seal has not yet been proven. But a court document from the neighboring community of Schamers from 1658 shows such a bear. It is believed that the inhabitants who came under Neuhaus's rule brought this seal to the court in Schamers. It is still unclear which seal was used in the reign of Neubistritz.
