Dolores Sutton
Dolores Sutton (actually Dolores Lila Silverstein ; born February 4, 1927 in New York City , New York , † May 11, 2009 in Englewood , New Jersey ) was an American actress and author .
Life
Sutton left New York University in 1948 with a degree in philosophy and wrote a radio piece , Siblings , for which she was also able to take on a speaking role while writing her master's thesis . This marked the beginning of a career spanning six decades. In the further course of this she wrote now and then; she wrote a number of plays for television plays , but most of all she wrote plays such as Down at the Old Bull and Bush , The Web and the Rock , Company Comin ' , Born Yesterday , A Perfect Ganesh , Detail of a Larger Work , The Front Page , The Exact Center of the Universe , A Drop in the Bucket , Spring Storm, and Signs and Wonders .
Her first television appearance was the only 1.57 m tall Sutton in an episode of the Jack Benny Program ; In the series Valiant Lady (1954f.), Date with life (1955) and From these Roots (1959f.) she had continuous roles. They could also be seen in soap operas like Young and Passionate , The Edge of Night , Ryan's Hope , All My Children and General Hospital .
On Broadway , she played in Rhinoceros in 1960 , General Seeger in 1961 and in My Fair Lady in 1994 ; off-Broadway , her appearances were far more extensive. She was also engaged at the Goodman Theater in Chicago . She was nominated three times for the Sara Siddons Award . She interpreted the role of a nun twice in the feature film Always Trouble with the Angels (1966) and in the sequel, When Angels Travel, which was made two years later . Woody Allen gave her a role in Crime and Other Trifles in 1988 .
Sutton, who was married from 1956 to 1958, died in an actor retirement home.
