Johann Franz Dominik Aloys Eustach von Weber , from 1787 Count von Weber (born December 29, 1744 in Schwyz , † February 17, 1827 in Hietzing ), was a Swiss politician and officer .

Life

Weber was the son of the military Alois Werner von Weber and came from the old Schwyz country people family Weber . He became a privy councilor to the Prince-Bishop of Konstanz Franz Konrad von Rodt , then in 1768 governor in Wil and from 1772 to 1788 regional major and at the same time from 1772 to 1774 and again from 1788 to 1790 federal governor in Thurgau . In between, he was from 1784 to 1788 state treasurer and also from 1785 to 1792 nine judges. In 1787 he was with his father by Pope Pius VI. raised to the papal count.

Weber held a number of offices during the First Coalition War . Weber fled abroad during the period in which the Helvetic Republic came into being because he feared repression, while his brother-in-law Franz Xaver von Weber took on new offices. Dominik Alois von Weber acquired a manor in Feldkirch and finally moved to Hietzing in 1805. There he died in poor circumstances despite an imperial pension.
