Alois Werner von Weber or Wäber , from 1787 Count von Weber (also Aloys Werner Wäber von Acher ; born October 23, 1703 in Schwyz ; † October 30, 1792 ibid) was a Swiss politician and officer .

Life

Weber came from the old Schwyz country people family Weber and was the grandson of Landammann Jakob von Weber . He became a cadet in 1722 , a lieutenant in 1727 , and a captain in the Spanish regiment of Lower Austria in 1732 . He was involved in military campaigns several times, including in North Africa. Around 1737 he joined the Régiment de Tschudy (51e régiment d'infanterie etrangère) , where he became a colonel in 1744 and finally a brigadier in 1748 . As part of this regiment, he fought in the War of the Austrian Succession in Italy before resigning from the military in 1750. Until then he was also active as a military entrepreneur and in 1751 sold his half company to his relative Franz Dominik von Weber . In the following years he had the Acherhof, acquired around 1740, rebuilt and expanded.

In 1757 Weber became landlord sack master and governor of the March district , 1758 councilor and 1759 provincial governor . From 1761 to 1780, he was a regular Diet envoy , in the years 1761/1762, 1767/1768 and 1771/1772 Schwyzer Landammann . He was also an envoy several times, for example in St. Gallen , Solothurn or Sitten .

Weber was in 1787 by Pope Pius VI. in the papal count conditions raised . The politician and officer Dominik Alois von Weber was his son.
