Dominik Bury (born November 29, 1996 in Istebna ) is a Polish cross-country skier .

Career

Bury started in Horní Mísečky for the first time in the Slavic Cup in December 2012 and finished in 86th place over 10 km classic and 42nd place over 15 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Fiemme Valley , he achieved 74th place in the sprint, 39th place in skiathlon and 17th place in the relay. In February 2015 he took his first victory in the Slavic Cup in Zakopane in the 15 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Almaty , he came in 50th place in the sprint, 15th place over 10 km freestyle and 14th place in skiathlon. In January 2016 he made his debut in Nové Město in the cross-country skiing world cup , taking 18th place with the relay. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he reached 47th place in the sprint, 26th place over 10 km classic and 18th place over 15 km freestyle. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he finished 65th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer . At the 2017 U23 World Championships in Soldier Hollow , he took 23rd place in the sprint and tenth place over 15 km freestyle. In February 2017 he came 41st place over 15 km classic at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti and tenth place in the team sprint together with Maciej Staręga . In the 2017/18 season he took 63rd place in the Ruka Triple and 70th place in the World Cup final in Falun . At the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 , he came 44th in the sprint. In February 2018 he ran at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang to 52nd place in the skiathlon, 33rd place over 15 km freestyle and 13th place together with Maciej Staręga in the team sprint.

In the 2018/19 season, Bury took three wins in the Slavic Cup and one second place and thus achieved second place in the overall standings at the end of the season. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , he came in 40th place in the sprint, 19th place over 15 km freestyle and 18th place in the 30 km mass start race. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he ran to 62nd place over 15 km classic, 47th place in the sprint and 18th place together with Maciej Staręga in the team sprint. At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he scored his first World Cup points in the Ruka Triple, which he finished in 46th place, with 19th place in the pursuit. This was followed by 24th place in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 and victories at the Slavic Cup in Zakopane over 15 km classic and in Štrbské Pleso in the sprint. He also won the classic Bieg Piastów over 50 km and at the end of the season he finished sixth in the overall ranking of the Slavic Cup.
