Dominink Kossakowski
Dominink Kossakowski (lit. Domininkas Kosakovskis ; * 1711 ; † 1743 in Lithuania ) was a representative of the eleventh generation of the Lithuanian line of Kossakowski and founder of the city of Jonava, 35 km from Kaunas .
Life
Domininkas Kosakovskis was a civil servant (sargybinis) and court sub-head of elders in the powiat Kaunas. Around 1740 he built an estate for himself on the Neris and Varnaka rivers and lived there. In memory of his father ( Jonas Mykolas Kosakovskis ) he founded Jonava.
family
Domininkas was married to Marijona Zabielaitė (1704–1776). After the marriage they lived in the Šilai Manor (7 km from Jonava). His four sons (Mykolas, Antanas, Juozapas Kazimieras and Simonas) became influential people in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . They also had a daughter, Onutė.
