Petras Vaitiekūnas (pastor)
Petras Vaitiekūnas (* October 17 . Jul / 29. October 1891 greg. In Kikoniai, Rajon Kupiškis ; † 22. May 1946 in Jonava ) was a Catholic priest, politician and mayor of Jonava.
Life
From 1907 to 1910 Vaitiekūnas trained as a pharmacist in Vilnius , from 1911 to 1914 he was in the Kaunas seminary , from 1917 to 1918 he studied at the Spiritual Academy in Saint Petersburg . In 1914 he worked as a subdeacon in Panevėžys , in 1915 as a deacon in Vašokėnai, a manor in Troškūnai . From 1922 was Petras Vaitiekūnas licentiate of canon law and pastor of the parish Jonava . He was later elected mayor of Jonava (1937-1940).
