Building description

View from the northwest

The building was essentially made of reddish brick on a narrow base made of uncut and non-layered field stones . The choir is drawn in straight and strong. On the eastern wall of the choir is a lancet triple window with a raised pointed arch, the chamfered walls of which are plastered . Above this is a circular screen in the gable . The east wall is stabilized with narrow buttresses .

This is followed by the nave with a rectangular floor plan. The east side of the ship is closed. The gable, adorned with pinnacles, is decorated with five staggered panels, of which two coupled , ogival bricks were incorporated into the middle panel . Inside the panel, these are each provided with a rectangular, slit-shaped opening. The north and south walls of the nave are dominated by two brick arched openings. Two coupled pointed arch windows with a circular window above are incorporated into each of them. The choir and nave each have a simple gable roof .

The west tower takes up the full width of the nave. On the south side there is a small, pressed-segment arched gate, above a narrow, high rectangular window; on the south wall of those two. The building can be entered from the west through a large, wooden gate. It is protected by an open vestibule with a gable roof. The greeting “Peace be upon you” is quoted in the gable of the vestibule. To the side, at the height of the roof ridge of the vestibule, there are two more narrow windows on the western wall. Above this extends the elaborately designed gable, which in turn consists of five ascending panels. The middle one is again decorated with two coupled, pointed arch-shaped bricks, each with a sound arcade , with a circular opening above it. This is followed by the square and strongly drawn-in tower hood . It is open on the west and east side and designed as a panel on the other two sides. This is followed by a small pyramid roof with an open top and a cross.

Furnishing

The equipment is described in the Dehio manual as "simple" and from the construction period. There are three figural glass windows on the east wall. Other church furnishings include a baroque crucifix and a cross from 1818.
