The Protestant village church Markgrafpieske is a hall church in Markgrafpieske , a district of Spreenhagen in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg . It has been officially known as the Friedenskirche McPeace since 2012 .

history

The building was built between 1896 and 1898 based on a design by the government master builder Schlaeger . Among other things, he was responsible for building the village church in Drachhausen in the south of Brandenburg. The construction in Markgrafpieske was carried out by the builder houses. After the fall of the Wall, the parish renovated the sacred building in the 1990s . In 1997 the organ was fitted with an electric fan and was restored in 1998 by Christian Scheffler .

architecture

The three-aisled hall was built from bricks with a rectangular floor plan in the neo-Gothic style. On the long sides of the nave there are a total of four ogival windows, each of which is divided into three, also ogival segments. Multi-stepped buttresses between the windows provide the necessary statics . On the northern nave there is a vestibule towards the church tower . A semicircular apse adjoins it in the west.

In the east stands the rectangular, massive 48 meter high tower. It is built from light limestone up to about the height of the eaves of the nave and has several pointed arched windows as well as a mighty portal . There is a clock on three sides of the tower. Below are two neo-Gothic shaped panels on each side in the gable of the nave . This design language was also adopted on the upper floor of the tower: on the bell floor, Schlaeger had several panels installed, which are grouped around two sound arcades on the front and back as well as one additional sound arcade on the sides of the church tower. Nave and tower close with a gable roof from which is covered with dark tiles. The transverse roof turret, also covered with dark bricks , ends with a tower ball and a cross.

Equipment and organ

The furnishings of the church, including a horseshoe gallery, date from the construction period, including an organ by Wilhelm Sauer from 1898. Opus 752 has 13 registers and 750 pipes . The parish paid Sauer 4,412 gold marks for the instrument . The disposition is as follows:
