Doug McKeon (born June 10, 1966 in Pompton Plains , New Jersey ) is an American actor and film director .

life and career

Doug McKeon completed his television debut in 1975 in the soap opera The Edge of Night , the same year he was also in Broadway -Stück Truckload seen. For his portrayal of a cripple in the television film Solo for Trumpet (1978) alongside Burt Young , he received a Golden Globe nomination in the category of best young actor . In the following years he got bigger roles in movies like There's no such thing as a team again (1980) and With the Wind to the West (1982), which at times made him a well-known young actor. In 1981 he played what is perhaps his best-known role alongside Henry Fonda , Katharine Hepburn and Jane Fonda in the Oscar-winning drama At the Golden Lake . One of his last major roles was in Mel Damski's 1985 teen comedy Traffic Problems .

Later, the quality of McKeon's role offerings deteriorated and he can still be seen mainly in B-movies or as a guest actor in television series. In the 2000s he tried his hand at directing and screenwriting two smaller feature films. In 2015 he took on a major cinema role in the B horror film I Spit on Your Grave 3 for the first time in a long time. In 2016, McKeon played in Rob Reiner's political drama LBJ about the tenure of US President Lyndon B. Johnson , played by Woody Harrelson , whose Vice-President Hubert H. Humphrey .
