Dublin is a suburb northeast of Columbus , Ohio . The city has a population of around 34,300 (as of 2004) and an area of 54.8 km² .
Dublin is the seat of the Online Computer Library Center and namesake for the bibliographic data format Dublin Core .
history
The first written mention of the settlement comes from 1802 . In 1970 it had only 681 inhabitants. The population grew after the completion of the highway Interstate 270 . In 1987 , when the place received city rights, it reached about 10,000 inhabitants. In 2004 the population was estimated at around 34,300.
