Dudu Cearense , also called Dudu , (born April 15, 1983 in Fortaleza , Ceará ; actually Alexandro Silva de Sousa ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .
Career
societies
Dudu Cearense was discovered and signed by the Brazilian club EC Vitória . In his first season with the professional team, he won the national championship of Bahia and established himself in the following years as a regular player of the club.
In 2004 he was associated with some European clubs, but decided to move to Japan to Kashiwa Reysol . After only eleven games, however, it was decided to loan Dudu to Europe, where he came to Stade Rennes . This is how people in Russia noticed him and in 2005 he was signed by CSKA Moscow . There he succeeded in winning the championship and the national Supercup in the first season. In the 2008/2009 season, Dudu moved to the Greek club Olympiacos Piraeus for six million euros . There the Brazilian received a three-year contract that brings him 1.5 million euros per season. In the summer of 2011, Dudu Cearense moved to the Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro . In June 2012, the club announced that they had released the player.
At the beginning of September 2012 the Goiás EC announced the engagement of Dudu Cearense. At the beginning of 2014 he left the club again. He tried again abroad. Initially, Dudu Cearense went to OFI Crete in January, before moving to Maccabi Netanja in Israel in July . Due to an injury, he did not appear for the club in the league. He only appeared twice in the league cup . In September of that year, the club prematurely terminated the contract with Dudu.
Dudu went back to his homeland. In early 2015 he signed a new contract with Fortaleza EC . The contract had a term of two years. After winning the state championship of Ceará in 2016, Dudu Cearense moved again. He got a contract with Botafogo FR from Rio de Janeiro . The contract was renewed at the beginning of January 2018. After the 2018 championship , his contract with Botafogo expired .
In March 2019, Dudu Cearense announced his retirement from professional sports.
National team
In 2003, Dudu took part in the U20 World Cup for Brazil and scored four times. A year later he won the Copa América with the Brazilian national team .
