The Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák are a Hungarian ice hockey team from Dunaújváros .

history

The club was founded in 1985 as Dunaferr Sport Egyesület Dunaújváros and celebrated its greatest successes in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2004 the club merged with the Dunaújváros AC and changed its name to Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák . Since then, the main sponsors have been included in the team's name again and again, so u. a. DAC-Invitel , Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák-Extra.hu and Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák.Docler .

Venue

The club's home games are played in the 3,500-seat Dunaújvárosi Jégcsarnok . This ice rink was originally built in 1973 as an open ice rink ( Dunaújvárosi Jégpálya ). In 1998, the conversion into a closed ice rink with a capacity of 3,500 spectators began, which was completed in 1999. In addition to the club's games, the World Championship of Division III in 1998 and the World Championship of Division II in 2002 were held in the ice rink.
