Dylan Windler (born September 22, 1996 ) is an American basketball player .

career

Windler played basketball as a teenager at Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis and was also a successful golfer . From 2015 to 2019 he completed a degree in accounting at Belmont University  (US state Tennessee ) and was a member of the basketball team. During his time at the college in Nashville , he won three conference championship titles with the team, in March 2019 he won a game with Belmont for the first time in the history of the college team in the NCAA finals of the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship . In the 2018/19 season, Windler excelled with averages of 21.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.5 basket assists and 1.4 ball wins. He hit 100 three-point throws over the course of the year with a success rate of 42.9 percent.

The Cleveland Cavaliers  secured the rights to Windler in the NBA draft proceedings  in June 2019 in 26th place. This made him only the second Belmont University player to ever be selected in the NBA Draft (the first was Joe Gaines in 1972).
