The EL Lada is the first Russian electric car to be used in series production and is produced by the Lada manufacturer AwtoWAS .

The EL Lada is based on the Lada Kalina . The development cost 10 million euros, and results from the Lada Rapan concept vehicle were incorporated . The lithium-ion battery was developed by the Russian company Liotech and is produced in the People's Republic of China . The model has a braking system with energy recovery to refill the battery.

The head of Russian Technologies Chemezov bought the first copy . In December 2012, production of the first 100 cars began, which are to be used as taxis in the Stavropol region in the Caucasus . On January 22, 2013, AvtoWAS (in accordance with the contract concluded in August 2012) delivered the first five EL Lada to the Stavropol region.
