The Lada X-Ray is an SUV from the Russian car manufacturer Lada , which has been sold in Russia under the name Lada XRAY since February 2016 . The vehicle should also come onto the market in Germany.

Concept vehicle

A concept vehicle was presented at the Moscow Auto Show 2012 . The body shape was designed by the former Volvo designer Steve Mattin and the prototype was produced by Vercarmodel Saro in Italy . The rounded body has curved beads over the wheel cutouts and is fitted with wide, flat headlights. The radiator grille is approximately X-shaped. In the interior, the fully leather-covered seats are rounded off with a futuristic dashboard and an infotainment system.

Production vehicle

The series vehicle has been in production since December 2015, and the XRAY went on sale in Russia in February 2016. Inside the factory, the vehicle is called GAB. However, the design differs significantly from the concept vehicle. The price is 589,000 rubles or the equivalent of around € 7,350. The Lada X-Ray is not considered the successor to the Lada 4X4 .

The name has two meanings: X-Ray is English for X-ray radiation and is an acronym for X (crossover class), R (recreation), A (activity), Y (youth).
