The Lada Rapan was an electric car developed by engineers and designers from the STC technical development department of the Russian car manufacturer AwtoWAS . The control units were installed inside the steering wheel together with the airbag . The electric motor developed 25 kW and offered a top speed of 90 km / h, acceleration to 30 km / h was 5 s, to 60 km / h in 14 s.
The three-door, four-seater, built in the shape of a coupé, with a transparent glass roof on the roof, had front-wheel drive and a rechargeable battery with a voltage of 134 V mounted under the floor. At the front, space had been left for the option of installing an additional combustion engine to make a hybrid electric vehicle to accomplish. The Rapan had disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The front seats could be rotated completely to make getting into the rear seats easier.
The model was never developed for series production or built as a small series. AwtoWAS was hoping for investments in the project by Russian energy supply companies such as B. Unified Energy System . But there was no interest in the project. Currently the project is frozen and was the only AwtoWAS model specifically designed as an electric vehicle. With the EL Lada there is now an electric vehicle from Lada.
