Life

Eberhard Bidembach was born on July 2, 1528 in Grünberg, the son of the Amtskeller Johann Bidembach and Elisabeth von Petershain. Having trained at the pedagogy in Stuttgart, he moved to the University of Tübingen on March 19, 1542 , and received his scholarship four days later . He was Baccalaureus in June 1544, Magister artium on February 12, 1550. On August 2, 1557 he received an honorary doctorate in theology. From 1552 he was a deacon in Herrenberg and in 1558 he became dean in Vaihingen an der Enz . He became both ducal council and general superintendent and abbot of the Bebenhausen monastery in 1560. It is thanks to him that he introduced the Württemberg church order in Mömpelgard in 1558 and that he took part in the Regensburg religious discussion in 1594 . He published several works by Johannes Brenz , who was his father-in-law. On April 24, 1597 Bidenbach died in Bebenhausen; he was married to Sophia Brenz (around 1536–1597) and had five children, including Eberhard Bidembach and Johannes Bidembach . Dietrich Schnepf , married to Barbara Brenz (1532–1572), was his brother-in-law.
