Eckenweiler is a district of Rottenburg am Neckar in the Tübingen district in Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ).

Geographical location

Eckenweiler is located 13 km west of Rottenburg, 14 km southeast of Nagold and 12 km northeast of Horb am Neckar on the edge of the Gäus at an altitude of 440 to 510 meters.

With a parcel of 198 hectares , Eckenweiler is Rottenburg's smallest district in terms of area. 73.5% of the area is used for agriculture and 12.2% for forestry. The rest of the usage makes up 0.5%. The settlement and traffic area accounts for 13.3%, and the water area 0.5%.

history

The community of Eckenweiler belonged to the district of Horb . On December 1, 1971, it was incorporated into the Ergenzingen community. This came to Rottenburg am Neckar on December 1, 1972.

Buildings

To the west of Eckenweiler is the Eckenweiler water tower with its characteristic cube-shaped container. Since 1998, one of the few wind turbines in this area has been located even further to the west in the form of a Nordex N 43 with a 60 meter high tower and 43 meter rotor diameter.
