Edenried is a district of Aichach in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .
geography
Edenried is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country , which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany .
Edenried is about nine kilometers west of the city of Aichach and about two and a half kilometers west of Griesbeckerzell.
history
The parish of Sankt Vitus belongs to the parish community of Obergriesbach in the dean's office of Aichach-Friedberg in the diocese of Augsburg.
The parish church dates from the 17th century and was remodeled in 1857.
Until January 1, 1972, Edenried belonged to the district of Aichach as an independent municipality and was incorporated into the municipality of Griesbeckerzell as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On January 1, 1978, Griesbeckerzell and its districts came to Aichach.
