Oberschneitbach is a district , a church village and district of Aichach in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .
geography
Oberschneitbach is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country , which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural areas of Germany .
Oberschneitbach is about four kilometers west of the old town of Aichach.
The Schneitbach (Kronbach) flows through Oberschneitbach. Coming from Hiesling and the Hieslinger Weiher in the west, it flows through Oberschneitbach and flows further east as a left tributary into the Paar in Unterschneitbach .
history
The Catholic branch church of St. Agatha in Oberschneitbach belongs to the parish of the Assumption of Mary in Aichach.
On January 1, 1972, until then was in the district of Aichach independent community Oberschneit Bach in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria incorporated into the town Aichach. On July 1, 1972, Aichach and its districts became part of the newly founded district of Aichach-Friedberg (until April 30, 1973 it was known as the Augsburg-Ost district ).
