Unterschneitbach is a district , a church village and district of Aichach in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .

geography

Unterschneitbach is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country , which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany .

Unterschneitbach is about one and a half kilometers southwest of the old town of Aichach.

Unterschneitbach lies on the western bank of the Paar, which flows from south to north .
The Schneitbach (Kronbach) flows through Unterschneitbach, coming from Hiesling and the Hieslinger Weiher in the west through Oberschneitbach and flows into the Paar as a left tributary in Unterschneitbach.

The Paartalbahn from Augsburg-Hochzoll to Ingolstadt runs east of Unterschneitbach and the Paar .

history

In 1302 the Schnaitbacher deed was signed in Unterschneitbach . This Snaitpach unification between the Bavarian dukes Rudolf I and Ludwig IV and the Upper Bavarian estates is considered to be the beginning of parliamentarism in Bavaria .

The Catholic branch Sankt Emmeran in Unterschneitbach belongs to the parish of the Assumption of Mary in Aichach.

On January 1, 1970, the independent community of Unterschneitbach , which had previously been in the Aichach district , was incorporated into the city of Aichach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On July 1, 1972, Aichach and its districts became part of the newly founded district of Aichach-Friedberg (until April 30, 1973 it was known as the Augsburg-Ost district ).
