Oberwittelsbach is a parish village and district of Aichach in the district of Aichach-Friedberg , which belongs to the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria . In the district of Oberwittelsbach is also the wasteland of Wöresbach.

Oberwittelsbach is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country , which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany .

Oberwittelsbach is about three and a half kilometers east of the city center of Aichach, Wöresbach east of Oberwittelsbach.

history

The Kuratie Maria vom Siege in Oberwittelsbach and Wöresbach belongs to the Catholic parish Mariä Himmelfahrt in Aichach.

On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Oberwittelsbach , which had been independent in the Aichach district, was added to the newly founded Aichach-Friedberg district as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On January 1, 1978, it was incorporated into the city of Aichach.
