Edin Salkić (born June 16, 1989 ) is an Austrian football player of Bosnian origin.
Career
Club career
Salkić began his active career as a football player in 1996 at SC Liezen in Styria . He then attended the Frank Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn , which he left in 2005 to join the amateur team from Austria Wien to FK Austria Wien II in the second-class first division . He also had his first professional assignments with the Viennese , all of which were only short assignments. He made his second-class debut on July 15, 2005 in a 2-1 away win over FC Kärnten when he came on for Hannes Toth in the 89th minute .
In January 2007 Salkić came on loan to DSV Leoben , for which he only came to a three-minute short stint against Kapfenberger SV until he left in July of the same year . In the same year he came to SV Wienerberg , the former satellite club of Austria, which is based in the Regionalliga Ost . With the Wienerbergers Salkić completed 20 games and scored one goal. All of his missions - except for one on August 17, 2008, when he played the entire game - were short appearances.
In August 2008 it went back to Styria, where Salkić was used in 17 games so far with the amateurs of SK Sturm Graz in the third-class Regionalliga Mitte and scored eight goals. At the beginning of January 2009 he moved to the Bundesliga team of SK Sturm. There he celebrated his Bundesliga debut on February 28, 2009 in the 1: 3 home defeat against Kapfenberger SV when he came on for Patrick Scherrer in the 81st minute . To date, he has been used in three Bundesliga games.
At the end of July 2009, Salkić switched to SC Austria Lustenau on loan for a year . In his team debut on July 31, 2009 he succeeded after he was substituted in for the Tunisian Ali Kridene in the 46th minute , a goal in the 77th and 91st minute. He was therefore primarily responsible for the Lustenauer's 2-1 home win over FC Gratkorn .
For the 2010/11 season, Salkić moved again on loan from Sturm Graz to the steric first division club TSV Hartberg . After twelve missions and two goals, he temporarily returned to his home club Sturm Graz in winter 2011. After the brief return, Sturm broke the contract and Salkić moved to league rivals SC Magna Wiener Neustadt .
Since summer 2012 he has been playing for the FAC team for Vienna in the Regionalliga Ost.
International
In total, Salkić has already made 22 appearances in the youth selection of the Austrian national team . He was also a participant in the 2007 U-19 European Championship in Austria .
