Edith Lassmann (* February 12, 1920 in Ebenfurth in Lower Austria as Edith Jurecka ; † February 20, 2007 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Edith Jurecka attended primary and secondary schools in Vienna, studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna and became a qualified engineer in 1941 at the age of 21. Her father was a civil engineer and hydraulic engineering technician, her brother had studied architecture. From 1941 to 1944 she was a university assistant to Alfred Keller for building theory and obtained her doctorate in technical sciences with Karl Holey in 1944 . At the beginning of 1945 she married the doctor Lassmann and had two children in 1947 and 1949, including the brain researcher and university professor Hans Lassmann .

From 1942 to 1944 Jurecka worked in the Alfred Keller studio; from 1945 to 1948 she was employed in the atelier of Hans Petermair . The main activity was the reconstruction after the Second World War , such as the Archbishop's Churhaus on Stephansplatz , the Upper Belvedere , the parish church of Gumpendorf, the parish church of Hernals. In 1952 she was qualified as a civil engineer and went into business for herself.
