Edith Schreiner

Edith Schreiner (born December 23, 1957 in Ehingen (Donau) ) is a German politician . The CDU local politician from Baden-Württemberg was Lord Mayor of the city of Offenburg from December 2002 to December 2018 .

Professional and political career

After graduating from high school, Edith Schreiner studied law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg between 1977 and 1982 . After the second state examination in law , she worked as part of her preparatory service between 1983 and 1986 at the Rottweil Regional Court and then at the Tuttlingen District Office until 1990 . Schreiner was a member of the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg until 1992 and then returned to the Tuttlingen district office as the first state official . In April 2002 Schreiner moved to the city of Offenburg as Mayor of Construction , where she was elected Lord Mayor in November of the same year . On October 10, 2010, she was elected for a second term with 88.6% of the votes cast (voter turnout: 35.8%). She did not run for a third party in the elections in autumn 2018 and retired on December 1, 2018. Since 2004 she has also been a member of the Ortenau district council .
