Eduard Jungbluth
Ernst Eduard Jungbluth (born February 14, 1868 in Burgdamm ( Bremen ), † August 15, 1949 in Hamburg ) was a German sculptor .
Life
From 1886 to 1888 Jungbluth studied at the Hamburg trade school. From 1888 to 1892 he studied at the Dresden Art Academy and was a student of Ernst Julius Hähnel and Johannes Schilling . From 1892 to 1913 he worked as a freelancer in Dresden and lived in the Loschwitzer Künstlerhaus from 1889 to 1899 . He was a member of the Academic Choral Society Dresden and wrote the festival Ein Tag bei Rubens in Amsterdam for the 15th Foundation Festival . In 1899 he married Martha Franziska Christine Wulff from Hamburg in the White Castle in the Dresden villa suburb of Blasewitz . Initially he lived in Blasewitz and later on Wittenberger Straße 57 in Dresden- Striesen , his studio was at Huttenstraße 10.
Using marble , sandstone and granite, he created sculptures, decorative sculptural facade decorations and interior decoration elements in residential and commercial buildings in Dresden. His novel artistic forms on the facade decoration elements brought him recognition and great praise from the Dresden city council for the models of the sculptural proposals for the Neustädter Markthalle, imagination and artistic ability and especially understanding for the new direction in ornamentation . He often worked for the Dresden architect Friedrich Wilhelm Hertzsch.
In 1913 Jungbluth moved back to Hamburg, but could no longer build on his successes in Dresden. He lost his fortune through the First World War and the subsequent inflation . He dealt with languages and learned Italian . Until his death he worked as an employee in a Hamburg stamp shop.
