Edward Hennig (born October 13, 1879 in Cleveland , Ohio ; † August 28, 1960 there ) was an American gymnast and two-time Olympic champion .
At the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis , he won two gold medals. He won the individual club swing and shared the victory on the horizontal bar with compatriot Anton Heida . He was a member of the Cleveland Turnverein Vorwärts and achieved with this the 13th place in the team all-around competition.
In 1942, at the age of 62, Hennig was nominated as the oldest candidate in history for the Sullivan Award for Outstanding Amateur Athlete. He eventually came third in the election.
Over a period of almost 50 years Hennig won the national club swing championship a total of 13 times; last when he was 71 years old. In 1911 he also won the horizontal bar title.
