Edwin Jackson (born September 18, 1989 in Pau ) is a French basketball player .

career

Jackson was born in Pau to the American basketball player Skeeter Jackson , who worked as a professional in France and later became a national of the country, and to a French mother.

Edwin Jackson played in his youth in Besançon, in Bron and then at ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne before he switched to the French competitive sports center INSEP . His first year as a professional basketball player was again with Asvel in the French first division in 2007/08. In 2009 he participated as a member of the world selection at the “Nike Hoop Summit”, in which some of the world's most hopeful basketball talents compete against a US selection.

After stints at JSF Nanterre in the second division and first division club Rouen Basket , Jackson returned to Asvel in 2011, where he played until December 2014 and developed into one of the best players in the league. In the 2013/14 season Jackson was the ProA's best thrower with a points average of 18.0. In the summer of 2014 he played for the Boston Celtics in the NBA summer league.

In December 2014 he accepted an offer from the Spanish top club FC Barcelona and ran for “Barca” until the end of the 2014/15 season. Jackson then stayed in the Spanish ACB league , played one year in Málaga and then one with Madrid club Estudiantes , where he underscored his offensive skills in the 2016/17 season and won the league's top scorer with an average of 21.4 points per game.

For the 2017/18 season Jackson moved to China to the Guangdong Southern Tigers . At the end of January 2018 he returned to FC Barcelona. Jackson KK Budućnost Podgorica ( Montenegro ) joined for the 2018/19 season . During the 2019 summer break, he signed a four-year contract with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne. After Jackson publicly complained about a lack of working time, he was loaned to his former employer CB Estudiantes in mid-February 2020 until the end of the 2019/20 season. The loan agreement became a firm agreement with Estudiantes.

National team

Jackson took part in several tournaments with the French youth selections: in 2006 he won the Albert Schweitzer tournament in Mannheim and was U18 European champion in the same year. In 2007 he won bronze with France at the U19 World Cup, and at the U20 European Championship in 2009 he won the silver medal with the French national team.

Jackson was part of the French senior team at the 2010 World Cup and won bronze at the 2014 World Cup.
